well done all mums

my mothers day will start off with a cup of tea and a treat from Babka, probably the rhubarb danish, my favorite...
followed by taking my boys to watch their cousins play football....
then lunch at my mums,
and then my sister,mum and I will leave all the kids with the men and go to the movies,
enjoy, we all know we deserve it!!

sewing light....

anyone who spends hours sitting at night sewing, quilting, knitting, cross stitching.............
knows the need for a good light,
preferably one that can balance on the arm of the couch....
this Carat Lamp designed by Arihiro Miyake, and presented at the 'Salone Satellite' in Milan this week
looks like the perfect lamp for the job,
it can be moved to sit at any angle by turning the base.......
and it looks good too.......

beehive is back....

We are lucky enough to have a new delivery of the ever popular Beehive Kitchenware in store....
there are new pieces as well as the new baby spoons again....
don't mess around this stuff doesn't last long.....

Tiffany Flowers, this light inspired by Tiffany lamps is by ding3000 an Hannover-based design group. It would look amazing hanging over one of Suzies chairs.....

After a little break, my clothing label Immune is back,
and the star attraction at the moment is this fantastic printed tee dress,

tree houses

We had a primitive tree house when we were kids, really only a platform! and I used to love sitting up there in the pine tree,
until one day a huntsman crawled onto me, that was it I never went up there again.....
but I love tree houses, and these 2 are exceptional

Architect Ternobu Fujimori designed and built this takasugi-an a tea house for himself, in Chino, Japan.
a place to get away and dring tea....
it is just completely heavenly.....



and this one, Fireball Lilly Lodge is a design by Hogarth Architects,
its a holiday home in Kilifi, Kenya.

perfect washing day

For everyone in Melbourne living with this heatwave,
it is the perfect time to get your quilts out and give them a wash.
This heat is great for drying quilts quickly.
The best way is to fill your bath with cool to warm water with some washing liquid,
fold your quilt and put it in the bath, and wash it folded, I get in the bath and walk up and down on them.
Empty the bath and re-fill to rinse the quilt.
then get as much water as possible out of the quilt and hang to dry.
In this weather they will be dry in no time!

textile heaven

This incredible building in Mexico City was designed by Mexican architects DCPP Arquitectos.
It is a textile warehouse and office.....
the building being so fantastic my mind is in overdrive dreaming about how amazing the textiles inside must be??
