Summer Hoidays are awesome, I have just returned from 3 weeks of sailing, national park action and plenty of time beachside.
I'm finding reality a little dull....... and boring.....

quilt washing weather

this HOT weather is perfect for washing your quilts, the wool wadding dries quickly.

I fold my quilts put them in the bath with warm water, I add washing liquid and some disinfectant, (it's easy to lose track of how long ago they were last washed!! so disinfecting makes me feel better.)

just walk up and down on the quilts and you will be shocked at the color the water turns, empty the bath and re-fill with fresh water and rinse the same way, walking on the quilts. Once rinsed, pull plug out and keep walking on them and this gets out the bulk of water, hang on clothes line with the wrong side up, so you do not discolor the fronts in the sun.

This week the margiela for H&M collection was released, and it was a re-release of past designs, and there are some good ones in there.

These are my top 3 and if anyone is anywhere near H&M and can get me any I will LOVE you for life!!!!!

I learnt to make cakes with my nana as a child, so when I bake something like this, it is pretty much throw everything into the bowl with no measuring. I just know what the consistency should be, so here is an educated guess at what I did!
(you can use normal flour)

ingredients in order of adding

butter,
3/4 cup castor sugar
2 eggs
cup chopped dates
2-3 mushy bananas
sprinkle of nutmeg & cinnamon
1 1/2 cups gluten free SR flour
1/2 cup almond meal
tsp baking powder
tsp bi carb soda.

one year ago today.....

This day last year was when I closed the brunswick street shop and ended 12 years in retail.
This past year has been very different, a lot less stressful and pretty fantastic.
Not having the day to day of running stores, ordering, designing, buying, importing, sourcing, manufacturing etc..... I was able to open my mind to new adventures.

And quite symbolically last night I won 2 awards at the
'157th Castlemaine Agricultural Show.'

The things you find.....

After one year and numerous hurdles! my studio is finished and I am one very happy girl. Thanks to everyone who pitched in and made it happen.
So now I am in the process of moving everything in, and with some boxes having literally been buried under other boxes for a year it is interesting to see whats in there.
Today I found BUDGIE CUPS!!! YEAH
I thought they were all sold out, but today I found gold, 2 big boxes, un-opended full of budgies.
So to everyone who has wanted these guys, I have some!!!
