I adore these buildings made by Ana Serrano, her mexican heritage so evident in her use of gorgeous colors and the festival feeling she evokes.

pacific islands weaving circle
Over the weekend I was lucky to go to the 'Pacific Womens weaving circle' workshop at
Alpha 60, as part of the mis-design art project.
We were taught how to weave with ribbon, and made a fish and a star, I took my 4 year old boys along as they are prolific producers of anything that involves textas, sticky tape, paper, ribbon, and lately potatos and toothpics! So I thought they would enjoy it.
It was loads of fun,
Most of these photos were taken by the boys....
this is the mobile we made when we got home, now hanging in the boys room.

store closing update
We are still having our closing SALE at douglas & hope, it looks like we have another month or so before we close the doors.
We have some sale stock in from Limedrop, and hope to receive tomorrow some sale stock from Arnsdorf to keep things interesting for you.
I have just finished a new lot of quilts and they hopefully will make it in to store in the next few days.
In my quest to reduce my fabric stock I have some new tees and bags also arriving in the coming weeks, and cushions are constantly coming in to keep up with the huge demand.
Keep your eyes peeled for my new melamine ranges due in soon.
Here is a sneak peek at the new ballerina!
